How We Operate

Spiritual Oversight:

A team of individuals we call Shepherds is set apart by the church – and by the Holy Spirit - for the purpose of listening to God and leading Community Church in a closer walk with Him.  Every three years the church prays and sets forth the names of men who would fill this unique servant role.  Each Shepherd makes a declaration and covenant to the church. To obtain a list of our Shepherds please contact the church office at (615)-826-0042.

Fiscal Affairs:

The Community Church Management Team oversees all fiscal issues, formulates the annual budget, creates strategies for greater body involvement, and sets forth plans for implementing projects involving the church’s financial commitments.  Team Members also oversee the staffing positions of all CCH employees.

Life and Ministry:

Our Pastoral and Administrative Staff oversees the day-to-day operations of Community Church and are an integral part of the success of our ministries. Each ministry is a part of the 6 strategic areas of focus – Weekly Gatherings, Family Ministries, FRIENDS/Care, Missions, Involvement, and Administration. Ministry Leaders are chosen from the body to serve a three-year term to implement and formulate strategies for each of the Community Church ministries. These leaders build teams of church members to assist in the strategic planning.  Together these groups work and serve to follow the vision set forth of Community Church.

Ministry CO-OP:

To improve communications between leadership, ministries and the congregation, we established the Ministry CO-OP.  Four members of our pastoral staff serve as “staff partners” and lead the CO-OP of our ministries.  They keep leadership informed of the recommendations and directions that are birthed and managed within the ministry teams.  The CO-OP also serves as the single contact point between leaders and ministry teams when support and approvals are needed.  To avoid conflicts and confusion, ministry events are presented to the CO-OP for synchronization with the “big picture” church calendar.  The most effective form of communicating with the CO-OP is through email.
